A Sub-Zero freezer has long been seen as an integral part of the appliance known as the epitome of refrigerators. It’s important to understand your many options when considering your refrigerator, freezer and ice maker choices. With Sub-Zero, you can enjoy various all-in-one refrigerator/freezer models, and you have the flexibility to separate your Sub-Zero freezer from your Sub-Zero refrigerator to maximize capacity and optimize positioning in your kitchen (or other rooms in your home). Many designers and homeowners love Sub-Zero freezers because of their design versatility. There are so many models and configurations to consider. Let’s look at the various options…
You’ll find Sub-Zero freezers in Classic, Designer and Pro Series models.
Sub-Zero’s Classic Series has the iconic grille that has stood for Sub-Zero’s quality for more than six decades. The Over-and-Under, French Door, and Side-by-Side models all feature both a refrigerator and freezer with ice maker. Depending on the model of your choice, you will find 30”, 36”, 42” or 48” widths. These beautiful high-performance appliances are available in stainless, glass door or panel-ready options. The latter allows your refrigerator and freezer to seamlessly blend into your kitchen by covering them with panels to match your cabinetry.
Sub-Zero’s Classic 36” Column freezer models provide a dedicated freezer that stands proudly beside your separate Classic 36” Column refrigerator, providing maximum capacity for both fresh and frozen foods.
Want your freezer to disappear?
If you like the sleek look, Sub-Zero’s Designer Series refrigeration is for you. In these models, the only thing to rival Sub-Zero’s performance is the sophisticated aesthetic. Hidden behind fully integrated panels, you will find a mesmerizing collection of features that make owning a Sub-Zero freezer with ice maker and refrigerator incredibly rewarding. The split climate™ intelligent cooling system keeps food fresher longer and the Sub-Zero freezer resists freezer burn, meaning you can store frozen food longer. The Clearsight™ LED lighting illuminates both freezer and refrigerator in a way that reduces shadows and makes locating fresh and frozen food easier. You can select from Designer Series column freezers in 18”, 24”, 30” and 36” widths. Some homeowners tuck a Designer Series freezer in a pantry for extra frozen food and ice-making capacity. Others customize an entire wall of their kitchen or bar area with Designer Series refrigerators and freezers to accommodate just the right ration of fresh and frozen foods.
Sub-Zero’s PRO Series: A bold, professional look for your home.
With the Sub-Zero PRO Series, you can select from 36” and 48” models that combine a refrigerator and freezer. These models, like all other Sub-Zeros, offer the same air purification system that is based on NASA technology that scrubs the air of ethylene and odor every 20 minutes. Reminiscent of refrigeration in world-class restaurants, these models can be installed directly within surrounding cabinetry, or they can be positioned as stand-alone appliances by adding accessory panels.
A Sub-Zero freezer with ice maker even comes in a drawer configuration.
Sub-Zero pioneered undercounter refrigerators and freezers, making it possible to place a refrigerator or freezer almost anywhere. In your kitchen island. In your bedroom or bathroom (install these with a Wolf Coffee System and mornings will become a delight!) Enhance your bar, family room or office. Line them up under your kitchen cabinets to organize meat, produce, drinks or ice cream for the kids…the possibilities are endless.
What can I expect from my Sub-Zero ice maker?
A Sub-Zero freezer with ice maker produces about 64-96 clear ice cubes per day. They do not create crushed ice. The standard ice cube for all in-unit ice makers is a crescent, half-moon shape. Undercounter ice makers produce clear ice. Clear ice is produced by the continuous melting within the icemakers since the bin is not refrigerated, only insulated.
Certain Sub-Zero freezers include a “Max Ice” function, which increases the rate of ice production up to 40%. Once turned on, the “Max Ice” command will disable after 24 hours. Models with the Max Ice feature also allow you to engage this function from the Sub-Zero owner’s app, which is very convenient if you realize you didn’t turn it on, while out shopping or getting ready for your party or event.
