Learn How to Make Your Refrigerator Disappear with Sub-Zero

Clarke, New England’s Official Sub-Zero & Wolf Showroom and Test Kitchen, would like to help demystify the new line of Sub-Zero Integrated Refrigeration. When customization is taken to a whole new level, this can be a blessing and a curse. The blessing is that you can virtually do anything you would like; the curse is deciding where to you begin. Here’s some information that may help you break it down.

In the 1950’s, Westye Bakke pioneered built-in refrigeration and Sub-Zero was launched. The company has continued for 70 years as the pioneer in refrigeraton. Then in the 1990’s, Sub-Zero took the built-in concept a step further with integrated refrigeration – appliances that virtually disappear in your cabinetry, with neither a hinge nor a grille visible. This transformed kitchen design.

Recently Sub-Zero has catapulted integrated refrigeration to a whole new level with the introduction of its industry-stunning New Generation line, tripling the number of refrigerator and freezer models by introducing new sizes and configurations that make customizing your refrigeration a reality. Let’s take this one step at a time so you can see the options…

First, you can take a look at the widths available and imagine how you can combine them to fit almost any space in your home…18″, 24″, 30″ and 36″.

Next, consider whether you’d like to have your refrigerator and freezer combined in one or more of those widths, or whether a separate refrigerator and freezer might work better for your lifestyle…

Then, take customization a step further with three different configurations…the column, over-and-under or undercounter.

Integrated Configurations at Clarke Distribution

So, imagine a 24″-wide column that is all refrigerator, alongside a 24″ column that is all freezer, across the room from an island that has three all-refrigerator undercounter drawers and one set of freezer drawers. Need more food preservation? Then a 30″ over-and-under unit is tucked in the pantry with refigerator above and freezer drawers below. You get the idea.

What’s more, you can have some of these units (or all of them…it’s your choice) in gleaming stainless steel.

Or you can choose to make them disappear…yes, making them look like they are part of your gorgeous cabinetry.

In addition to these aesthetics, Sub-Zero has also added extraordinary features to enhance food preservation even more. But, we’ll save that for another post…stay tuned! This is all very exciting and we hope you will take advantage of Clarke’s showrooms to learn even more. A visit to a Clarke showroom offers an opportunity to get inspiration from jaw-dropping kitchens (imagine your favorite home design magazines coming to life before your eyes!) This visit also provides an opportunity for you to Test Drive these appliances to help you select just the features that will enhance your life.
