On Friday, October 1, 2019, Clarke welcomed more than 150 guests to our Milford showroom for the 5th Annual Clarke Nativity School of Worcester Fundraiser and Gala.
The Nativity School of Worcester is an accredited, independent, Jesuit middle school that provides a quality, all-scholarship education to underserved boys of all faiths. Drawing upon four pillars – strength, scholarship, character, and service – a Nativity School education inspires self-discovery, responsibility, spiritual growth and a lifelong dedication to learning.
The Nativity School provides an excellent education for middle-school boys who come from low-income homes, allowing them the opportunity to learn in a small class size, attend a summer program and participate in organized activities. Each year, the school selects several students to attend the fundraiser and gala at Clarke. These young men always delight donors, as they explain why they attend The Nativity School and share stories of their success.
The night began with an Italian dinner for the faculty and students of the school, prepared by Clarke’s Culinary Team in the Beehive test kitchen. Following the school dinner, event guests arrived to enjoy appetizers, a raw bar and carving stations offering Salmon Wellington and Buttermilk Turkey. A highlight of the evening was a cooking demonstration by Chef Matt King of Smith & Wollensky, one of the country’s finest steak houses.
As the night continued, Demetri, Mveng Class of 2021, spoke to the audience about his experience as a student at the at the Nativity School of Worcester. This was the perfect introduction for the evening’s big event – the auction – the opportunity for attendees to make generous donations to the school and its future success.
The Nativity School of Worcester does not receive financial assistance from the state or federal government, but instead relies on the generosity of individuals, foundations and corporations. Clarke is thrilled to share that this year’s fundraiser raised $210,000 for the Nativity School of Worcester!
Clarke would like to thank everyone who attended this event and generously donated to help realize the compelling mission of The Nativity School of Worcester. We are looking forward to watching these young men continue to excel and feel fortunate to be a part of their success.
