A Tale of Two Clarke Boston Showroom Pros

As Clarke curated the staff for their new Sub-Zero & Wolf Showroom and Test Kitchen at 7 TIde in Boston, the focus was on knowledge, professionalism, a passion for customer service and an unbridled enthusiasm for fresh food and cooking. Two women who have joined Clarke’s Boston showroom team are exceptional in that they are consummate appliance veterans who have worked for other high-end brands for more than 20 years and have found their home at Clarke together in this new venture.

Lee Maida has worked for Clarke at the Sub-Zero & Wolf Showroom and Test Kitchen in Milford, Massachusetts, for four years and jumped at the chance to work in the new Boston showroom. “I love the boutique feel that our Boston showroom offers,” says Maida, known by many in the appliance industry as the “Ventilation Queen” as a result of 10 years prior to joining Clarke, when she was focused totally on the importance of proper cooking ventilation. “The showroom displays Sub-Zero and Wolf products beautifully at 7 Tide in magnificent vignettes, which inspire the customers and give them a feel for how these appliances will look in their own space. I love the energy of the city and this showroom team! There’s a great dynamic here.”

Lee was the showroom manager for The Viking Center prior to joining Clarke and also worked with many other luxury brands, so when she offers her perspective on the industry, you know it comes from experience. “I’ve seen luxury products peek and plummet. I’ve seen distributors fail. One thing that has remained consistent over the past 20-plus years is the presence of Clarke in this industry and their ability to maintain a strong distribution business of high-performance products and show a real personal pride while doing it.

“The attention to detail here and the importance placed on how we make the customer feel is unique,” she continued. “Clarke shows both their employees and the customers an amazing energy. Everyone on the team is empowered to really be there for the customer. My favorite part of the job is the people. Everyone really cares. There’s a certain spirit here filled with pride and energy and fun. I love being able to talk about products that I really believe in.”

The second appliance pro joining the Clarke team in Boston is Jane Vitagliano. She is new to Clarke, joining  the Boston team as a showroom consultant after eight years as showroom manager and chef at Miele’s New England Showroom. She, too, has known of Clarke in the industry for years and jumped at the chance to work for the company and educate people about what she calls “products that are top in the field.”

“I love working on all different types of projects with clients,” said Vitagliano. “and seeing how excited they get when learning about all of our products. Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances really set the standard in this industry with their quality, look and functionality. Nobody makes a better product, period.

“I’ve been a professional chef and come from a strong appliance background,” she continued, “so I understand the appliances and why they are better, what exactly they can do and what the other brands cannot. This really helps me guide the customers to the correct appliances for their individual needs.”

While Lee and Jane have a unique depth of experience with different high-end appliances over the past several decades, when asked which singular appliance is their favorite, they answer rapidly with the same answer, “the Wolf Convection Steam Oven.” Both say they couldn’t imagine cooking without one.

They also both, independently, confirm that the appliance technology that most homeowners are talking about and asking about are convection steam ovens and induction cooking. At Clarke’s new Sub-Zero & Wolf Showroom and Test Kitchen at 7 Tide, customers can actually test drive these appliances.

“It’s impossible to appreciate what the Wolf Convection Steam Oven or Induction Cooktop can do for your kitchen without trying it,” said Lee. Both women cook regularly at the Boston showroom, where Maida has already made her signature recipe, Tiramisu, with the help of Wolf’s Coffee System and Vitagliano recently treated showroom guests to a flourless chocolate cake made in the convection steam oven.

According to Maida, “Clarke’s motto is ‘We are here for you before, during and after your project.” From getting to know the customer’s lifestyle so we can help in appliance selection through product test drives, answering questions and providing further education, the Clarke team is there. According to Maida, “After your project is done, we’re still here with use and care classes and Clarke Customer Care, our top-rated service company with technicians who are highly trained to service the entire Clarke family of products.”

Browsers are welcome during showroom hours, however making an appointment at the Boston showroom at 7 Tide (or at the other Clarke Sub-Zero & Wolf Showrooms in Milford, Massachusetts or South Norwalk, Connecticut) ensures a singular experience.
