7 Tide, Clarke’s popular design destination in Boston Seaport, will host “Building Before Building: Augmenting Design with Technology, ” an innovative and informative panel discussion on April 5 from 5:30-7:30 PM, during Boston Design Week. Clarke President Sean Clarke will moderate the panel of cutting edge design experts.

The panel will include Chris Brown of b Architecture Studio, Miana Hoyt Dawson, of A.W. Hastings, Michael Ferzoco of Eleven Interiors and Amr Rafaat of Windover Construction. Clarke will guide a discussion among these experts as they outline the technology they use to streamline the design and construction process.

“We’ll be looking at ways these companies leverage technology to allow clients to see their vision come to life before construction even begins,” said Clarke, who is no stranger to the importance of technology, drove the creation of a Media Lounge inside Clarke’s 7 Tide Showroom to allow architects and designers to project their plans on a 16′ x 9′ screen for clients to imagine their kitchen in full scale just steps away from live kitchens where they can interact with the appliances they are selecting for their new space. Clarke was also recently named one of the Top 50 Innovators in the kitchen and bath industry.

Also intimately familiar with the pre-design process, Miana Hoyt Dawson was integral in the strategy and proprietary technology her company developed to open the country’s first Marvin Experience Center, a high-tech, high-touch exploration of personalized options from Marvin windows and doors.

From the architectural and interior design perspective, as well as the construction vantage point, Brown, Ferzoco and Rafaat will share their experience with keeping up with new technologies like BIM, CAD and VR and how their clients are reacting to those capabilities.

“Building Before Building” promises to be a valuable encounter for the design community, as well as forward-thinking homeowners looking to identify the professionals they would like to work with on a particular project. There will be a question and answer period, as well as time for networking.
